There is a stream that flows from
the heart within.
Its name is ‘compassion’
and its Source is love.
It flows past rocks and branches
that block its way,
past whirlpools and eddies that focus it
in one place,
to rush forward with a movement
from the Source of life itself.
This stream is of the eternal.
Its nature is Divine,
its purpose the redemption of every soul.
At the end of its journey, as it opens
into a river,
it joins all other streams
that feed into this river,
until, finally, with great anticipation,
it pours itself out into the ocean
where it comes to rest
in the embrace of Vastness,
the place where all life begins,
and to which all life returns.
