Do not let the space close down
    around your heart,
    or think because things are difficult
    there is no room to be gracious.
Graciousness breeds grace.
It separates the heart from its fear
    and allows it to relocate
    in the presence of love.
This is the truth of the heart's capacity,
    that even when beset by its own
    pain and suffering
it can choose to love instead of
    to close down.
It can choose to embrace instead of
    to withdraw.
Here is a victory for the Divine within us,
to affirm our heart and to offer its blessings.
