Each heart longs to be met in its depth,
    to be seen in its goodness and love,
    to be known in its truth.
Many have despaired of this kind of meeting
    due to wounds of the past,
    and have learned to be a partial self with others
    instead of a full self.
Now, in the presence of greater light,
    we awaken to the knowledge
    that to be ourselves is why we are here.
We awaken to the longing which moves
    from the shadows of a distant wish
    to a burning desire to become more real.
It is thus that the awakening of the heart
    can create a new society,
    through the way of bringing hearts together
    in the depth of their goodness and love,
    and in the presence of their truth.
