VISIONS OF THE PROPHET ISAIAH

The vision given to Isaiah of the 'last days' is one of hope for humanity. It is based on the assumption that in that time, God's presence will be felt upon the earth as a tangible reality. Because of this, all people and all nations will be affected. No more will there be a need to wonder if God is real. Though there may remain those who doubt, the awakening consciousness of mankind will vibrate with the truth of God's reality. This will create a yearning in many to learn how to live a sacred life. In the midst of the falling away of old beliefs and values, a new society will emerge, based on the principles of love and harmony with universal Law. This is the vision of Isaiah concerning the 'last days':

 

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord."

"And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

For in this mountain shall the hand of the Lord rest."
