CONTAMINATED WATER, Flint, Michigan - A Spiritual Perspective
The awakening of consciousness is happening now through global purification in the wake of expanding spiritual light. All who are here have chosen to be here at this time, and the response to this choice must be one of the heart, for our hearts are being called to become active in the healing of the Earth and of each other.

We need to understand that our global consciousness is being transformed in ways that are both visible and invisible. Just as incidents of police brutality in America in the last several years have brought to light a huge swelling of awareness of remaining racial prejudice and inequality in relation to African-Americans, so, too, does the outcry concerning contaminated water in Flint, Mich. reveal to us the need for healing of the motives of greed, indifference, moral torpor, and racial prejudice.
We are not aware of how consciousness changes, especially at the global level, and yet these ‘events’ are the orchestration brought about by expanding light that show us the hidden layers of darkness that we have been unable to see or have refused to see. They raise the alarm that lets us know that something needs to change.
With regard to the lead-contaminated drinking water in Flint, Michigan:
- We become aware that we can no longer take the purity of our water supply for granted,
- We become aware that motives of greed, indifference, laziness, and racial prejudice can all come together to create a willingness to allow harm to others, even if it had not been our conscious intention that this be so,
- We learn to value the water that the Earth provides and that we rely upon, and to seek to ensure its purity,
- We become aware of the ‘power of deception’ – that force that can operate within human affairs either deliberately or unconsciously that allows human beings who are otherwise caring to ‘not know’ the effect of what they are doing,
- We come to identify with the plight of others, and especially with the effect of contamination on young children, for these are the ones who are most affected by the contaminants in drinking water at a time when their bodies are most vulnerable.
That we pay attention to these factors is not a matter of interpreting such collective events as karma, as punishment, or as any other negative influence of a more cosmic nature, but rather that we are, through significant events that affect us, being issued a wake-up call to attend to matters that are greatly in need of healing. We can hear the call and turn away; we can hear the call and be lethargic in our efforts to address the suffering that many have endured; or we can awaken to the meaning of events and allow our hearts to move us in the direction of non-participation with attitudes and actions that we know to be harmful, either to the Earth or to others.

Let us let go of the idea that what we do matters little, for in the network of all in All, in the oneness of the Body of the Earth of which we are each a part, the awakening of one contributes to the awakening of all. This is our mandate and the cause for great hope, for what each of us thinks, feels, and does, holds promise for the entire transformation of the planet.
