THE 'SPIRITUAL' AND THE 'POLITICAL'
There is no separation between the 'spiritual' and the 'political'... All separations are based on the surface appearance of things and the habitual functioning of the mind which is accustomed to taking over functions that belong to the heart and soul.
---------------------------------
At this time of political campaigning in the U.S. and of preparing to vote, it is important to know the inner place from which decisions about voting and about all other 'practical' matters are meant to come. This awareness arises from the knowledge that we are unified beings, meant to experience our own unity and wholeness. This applies to all aspects of life that appear to be separate from the 'spiritual' and that we are accustomed to thinking of as such.
There is no separation between the 'spiritual' and the 'political.' There is meant to be no separation between the heart's deepest truth and the way it gets expressed in the various modalities in which life manifests. All separations are based on the surface appearance of things and the habitual functioning of the mind which is accustomed to taking over functions that belong to the heart and soul. It is possible to return these functions to the heart and to seek answers to the questions that both mind and heart ask.
There is no distinction between the outer Divine and the inner Divine. The Oneness manifests as both outer and inner, and so in the process of decision-making or problem solving, we can pray to the One who is Creator of All, or attune to the inner depths of our own being.
All aspects of life are meant to be incorporated into the knowledge of divine Oneness. None is too 'practical' or 'mundane.' All are asking to be brought into the domain of inner guidance where the truth of the soul can guide life and bring seemingly small decisions into alignment with the overall perspectives of the soul. There is no decision that is too small to do this with. There is no decision that is too insignificant.
Inner guidance coming from the Divine level of one's being is not something to be turned to on occasion, but is meant to be a way of life, a way of being, even in matters of practical importance. This is the belief that we must learn to live without, namely, that the domain of the 'practical' and the domain of the 'spiritual' have different purviews and different functions. This is a belief of the past, held by our memories of having felt separate from the Oneness and from our own Divine connection with truth.
In all aspects of life seek the One.
In all aspects of life seek inner guidance.
Allow the Divine to flow through all moments, all situations, all decisions.
Allow the recognition of the Divine within to be the center of identity.
Such a focus will take us to a new phase in life, one in which a seamless current of inner being can unify all aspects of experience, bringing these into harmony with each other and with the larger perspectives of our soul.
