THE SHAPING OF A REPUBLIC: COMMUNITIES BASED IN LOVE |
|
We do not yet believe in the possibility of the ideal becoming real. We desire love and to live surrounded by a loving environment but our current picture of motivations that seem to prevail cause us to feel that this wish is not practical nor even possible. And yet this is the movement of consciousness that is taking place now, here on Earth in the presence of darkness. The instrumentality of light to not only root out darkness but to create the inner and outer vehicles for the expansion of love is taking place. We are each that vehicle. We are each here at this time to become instruments of love. In picturing a shift to this higher dimensional consciousness that is now, invisibly, taking root, we must picture a time and place in which people living together or in proximity to each other could each be concerned for the welfare of all. At such a time, self-protection and the self-interest that keeps our love limited to a few would vanish. Instead, the boundaries confining love would open and love for all and the desire to extend love to all would take its place. These are the communities of the future, based in love, rooted in love, where not only each participant cares for the welfare of all, but where representatives of a community can be selected with great trust that they will act out of love and seek to be attuned to the Source of love in all that they do. Such trust seems almost inconceivable at this time, and yet it is the premise of a new consciousness in which the relationship of all to all is securely founded in the 'unity of love.' What does such a new community look like? Many structures can be the same, for it is not primarily the structures of government that need to change but the premises upon which these are built. 1. All residents of a community take part in shaping community life, rather than a small group. The model here is the 'unity of love' rather than a group of strangers who come together for specific purposes. 2. School Boards, Select Boards, Departments of Energy, Water, Transportation and all other departments are subservient to the greater principle of serving in love. 3. Authority is vested in a community council to make final decisions concerning the community, and to appoint representatives from the community council to the state council. Such decisions are made through group guidance and attunement. 4. Authority is given to the community as a whole and to its representatives in the council to legislate in relation to common areas of living such as: a. Where public spaces shall be located and of what they shall be constituted. The ecology of space selection and use shall be maintained at all times with a focus on environmental needs. b. How public spaces shall be used to serve children, the elderly, the disabled, those who are new to the community, those who are alone. c. Land use within community jurisdiction shall be considered a stewardship, with "Rights of Nature" legislation adopted that is honored at state and federal levels, as long as it does not infringe upon the rights of other communities or individuals. d. Food production shall be governed by a branch of the community council so that the community may be self-sustaining, depending upon location, to the degree that is possible. e. Areas of conflict are resolved through petitioning the community council, members of which also serve in love.
